IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR RESOURCES
Disclaimer
What Standardize It resources are designed to do - and where professional review is still essential.
Our resources help you organize and standardize your work. They do not replace advice from qualified legal, HR, safety, tax, accounting, or other professionals who understand your circumstances.
1. General information only
The information, templates, checklists, policies, procedures, examples, and other resources provided by Standardize It are for general informational and organizational purposes. They are intended to help businesses structure their own thinking and documentation, not to provide advice for every situation.
Our products and services are intended for businesses in Canada outside Quebec. We do not offer service for Quebec, and our resources are not available in French.
Your circumstances may differ from the assumptions used in a resource. You remain responsible for evaluating whether content is appropriate before relying on or implementing it.
2. Not professional advice
Nothing on this website or in our products is legal, human-resources, employment, labour-relations, tax, accounting, financial, medical, health and safety, cybersecurity, or other professional advice. Use of the services does not create a lawyer-client, consultant-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.
Consult qualified professionals about requirements, risks, and decisions specific to your organization, people, industry, and jurisdiction.
3. Templates require review and customization
Templates are starting points. They must be reviewed, completed, customized, approved, communicated, and maintained for your actual workplace. This includes confirming names, roles, responsibilities, timelines, systems, contractual commitments, accessibility needs, collective agreements, and legal requirements.
Do not adopt a template unchanged merely because it appears complete. Remove instructions and placeholders, resolve conflicting provisions, and obtain the approvals appropriate for your organization.
4. Laws and standards change
Laws, regulations, standards, guidance, and accepted practices vary by location and change over time. A resource may not reflect the most recent development or every rule that applies to your organization. Publication or revision dates do not mean that a resource continues to meet current legal or regulatory requirements.
When relevant legislation changes, we provide revised versions as described in our Terms of Service: one-time buyers receive them by email for 12 months after purchase, and active members receive all revisions while they remain subscribed. Revised versions do not replace your own review.
You are responsible for monitoring applicable requirements and updating your documents and practices accordingly.
5. Accuracy and completeness
We aim to provide useful, well-organized resources, but we do not warrant that all content is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Examples and explanations may simplify complex issues and should not replace an assessment of the full facts.
If you identify a possible error, please contact us so we can review it.
6. No promised results
Business outcomes depend on many factors beyond the documents or tools used. We do not promise compliance, reduced risk, employee performance, operational results, revenue, cost savings, or any other outcome from using our website, products, memberships, or recommendations.
Testimonials, examples, and descriptions illustrate individual experiences or intended uses and are not promises that you will obtain the same result.
7. Third-party content and links
Our website or resources may refer or link to third-party websites, tools, laws, guidance, software, or services. Links are provided for convenience and context. We do not control or vouch for third-party content, security, availability, accuracy, or practices, and a link does not necessarily mean endorsement.
Review the terms, privacy practices, and suitability of third-party services before using them.
8. Your responsibility and questions
You assume responsibility for how you select, edit, implement, communicate, and maintain the materials you use. To the extent permitted by law, Standardize It is not responsible for loss or damage arising from reliance on general information or from implementation without appropriate review.
This Disclaimer should be read with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Questions about a resource or its intended use can be submitted through our Contact Us page or by mail to Standardize It, 60 Brighton Court, Winnipeg, MB R2C 0X9.
