Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Standardize It website, member portal, templates, downloads, memberships, products, and related services. By using the services or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must have legal capacity to enter an agreement and provide accurate information. If you use the services for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Accounts and member access

You are responsible for safeguarding your login information and for activity under your account. Accounts and membership access may not be shared except where a purchased plan expressly includes additional seats. A Pro membership includes 1 seat. A Team membership includes 3 seats: the account holder plus 2 people they invite from the same business. You must promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

We may require verification, correct account errors, or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect customers, content, or the services.

3. Digital products and memberships

Product descriptions identify what is included at the time of purchase. Digital files may be revised, replaced, reorganized, or retired as our library evolves. Membership features, limits, and availability are based on the plan displayed when you subscribe, subject to reasonable changes under these terms.

Pro and Team memberships include the same benefits: the full template library, all courses, every template we add as it is released, and priority member support. The only difference between them is the number of seats described in section 2.

Scope and language. Our products and services are intended for businesses in Canada outside Quebec. We do not offer service for Quebec, and our resources are not available in French.

Revised versions. When relevant legislation changes, one-time buyers receive revised versions of the affected product at no charge for 12 months after the purchase date. We deliver them by email to the email address used for the purchase. Active members receive all revisions for as long as their membership stays active.

You are responsible for confirming that a product or membership meets your needs and that your software and systems can open or use the available file formats.

4. Licence and permitted use

Subject to payment and compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download, edit, and use purchased or membership-accessible templates for the internal operations of the one business covered by your purchase. Each licence is per business.

Consultants, bookkeepers, agencies, and other service providers who want to use our materials for clients need a separate purchase for each client business, or can contact us to discuss a different arrangement.

You may customize materials for permitted internal use. You may not resell, sublicense, publish, distribute, share, upload to a public library, provide as a standalone client deliverable (unless that client business is covered by its own purchase), remove ownership notices, or use the materials to create a competing template or membership product unless we give written permission.

5. Prices, payments, renewals, and taxes

Prices, billing frequency, included features, and applicable taxes are shown at checkout. You authorize us and our payment providers to charge the payment method you provide. You are responsible for accurate billing information and all applicable taxes not collected at checkout.

If a membership renews automatically, it will continue at the then-current price and billing interval until cancelled. You may cancel through your account or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals. Payments already made are not refunded (see section 6).

If you cancel your membership, you may keep the files you downloaded while you were subscribed and continue to use them for the internal operations of your own business only. You may not sell or share them. Access to the member library, courses, new releases, revisions, and member support ends when your membership ends.

6. Cancellations and refunds

All sales are final. Because our products are digital files delivered instantly, we do not offer refunds once a purchase is complete. This applies to one-time purchases and to membership payments.

There are two exceptions. If you are charged more than once for the same order, contact us and we will refund the duplicate charge. If a file you purchased can't be downloaded or opened using compatible software, contact us and we will fix the problem or replace the file.

We may cancel an order affected by a pricing error or suspected fraud. If we cancel an order, we reverse the charge. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.

7. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the website or services, bypass access controls, share unauthorized copies, scrape or extract protected content at scale, introduce malicious code, interfere with operation, impersonate another person, use the services unlawfully, or infringe the rights of others.

You may not use automated systems to access protected areas or reproduce substantial portions of our library without written permission.

8. Intellectual property

The website, branding, software, designs, text, graphics, templates, downloads, and other content are owned by Standardize It or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Purchasing or accessing content gives you only the limited licence described in these terms and does not transfer ownership.

Feedback may be used to improve our services without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

9. Availability and third-party services

We work to keep the services available and accurate but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, security events, internet failures, provider outages, and circumstances beyond our control may affect availability.

The services may depend on or link to third-party websites and providers. Their products, terms, privacy practices, and availability are controlled by them, not us.

10. Service disclaimers

Templates and resources are general business tools, not legal, accounting, tax, safety, human-resources, or other professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing, adapting, approving, and implementing them for your organization, workforce, jurisdiction, industry, and circumstances. Additional limitations appear in our Disclaimer.

To the extent permitted by law, the services are provided on an “as available” basis without warranties beyond those expressly stated or legally required.

11. Liability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, Standardize It will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill arising from the services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

You are responsible for your use, customization, implementation, and distribution of materials and for decisions made based on them.

12. Suspension, changes, and contact

We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, misuse, legal or security risk, or material breach of these terms. Provisions concerning ownership, licence restrictions, disclaimers, liability, and accrued obligations continue as appropriate after termination.

We may revise these terms by posting a revised version with a new date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, account, or email. These terms are governed by applicable laws of Canada, without limiting mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
